Breguet’s new Classique 5177 watch, launched the brand’s unprecedented elegant blue ‘big fire’ enamel dial style. Its iconic blue tone highlights the elegant Breguet style with a modern texture.
In the 18th century, the complex and magnificent Baroque style prevailed, while Mr. Abraham-Louis Breguet became his own style, advocating refined aesthetic design. Its distinctive watchmaking style is favored by elites and has become the leader of the trend of simple fashion of the times. The new Breguet Classique 5177 blue “Big Fire” enamel watch launched in 2019 draws inspiration from this neoclassical minimalist style. The iconic blue decorative dial with Breguet hands is innovatively presented, presenting an unprecedented Dark blue ‘big fire’ enamel dial.
The new dial tone is inspired by the blue presented by the blue-steel Breguet hands. In order to avoid the slight chromatic aberration of the dial during the production process and ensure the precise and consistent color tone, the research and development of dyes are extremely rigorous. Only when the color of the finished product is kept absolutely stable during the high-temperature firing process at 800 degrees Celsius can it meet the production requirements of the ‘big fire’ enamel dial to achieve a unique texture.
To ensure that the time is clear and legible, the rhodium-plated steel Breguet hands are even more striking against the blue dial. At the same time, the Breguet digital time scale, star, diamond, and iris scales that have been retouched with silver plating process are designed to increase the size. The hour markers and scales are drawn with fine powder, showing a slight convexity like relief. The background of the date window has a darker background, making date figures that are processed in the same process more visible and legible. In addition, the invisible Breguet signature is located at 6 o’clock on the enamel dial. All Breguet enamel dial timepieces use the iconic Breguet numbers invented by Mr. Abraham-Louis Breguet. The No. 15 self-winding pocket watch created in 1787 is one of the most representative works. .
Superb aesthetics meets cutting-edge technology
The new Breguet Classique 5177 blue ‘Bright Flame’ enamel watch is equipped with a 777Q automatic movement, equipped with simple and practical functions: a central second hand and a date display at 3 o’clock. The application of modern technology, such as silicon forks and escapement wheels, makes the movement of the watch more accurate. The aesthetic details of the movement, especially the design of the balance wheel, are reminiscent of several creative works launched by Breguet in the late eighteenth century.
The self-winding movement’s unique 18K gold oscillating oscillating weight can be seen through the sapphire glass case back. Regardless of whether it is exposed or not, all parts of the movement are carefully decorated by Breguet craftsmen. Thanks to chamfering, round grain, brushing and côtes de Genève, all the movement components are exquisite and elegant.
The slim white gold case is decorated with coins on the outer edge and is equipped with a 777Q movement. Adhering to the iconic elements of Breguet, the round and full welded lugs are still used at the connection of the blue alligator leather strap. In addition, the individual number is engraved on the case back, giving the model a unique and exclusive character. At the same time, the customer’s name can be registered in the historical archive of Breguet. This archive has been treasured since 1780 and is extremely precious. It gathers noble customers with timeless elegance and taste in each era.
Self-winding watch-the most charming work of Zoran
Mr. Abraham-Louis Breguet used the term Perpétuelle to interpret the self-winding watch he invented. The first remarkable achievement of his watchmaking career was the successful optimization of the automatic winding mechanism. However, during the same period, many watchmakers devoted themselves to studying how to overcome this problem, and failed to obtain convincing research results. With a timepiece equipped with a platinum oscillating weight, Mr. Breguet was the first to discover the secret of creating an automatic watch with excellent reliability. In 1780, the first self-winding watch manufactured by Abraham-Louis Breguet was sold to the Duke of Orleans. Since then, the self-winding watch has made Mr. Powell famous in Versailles and throughout Europe. From a technical and aesthetic standpoint, the self-winding watch was a unique masterpiece at the time. To this day, this invention is still the representative result of Mr. Baodi’s extraordinary creativity. The Breguet No.1 / 8/82 self-winding timepiece was manufactured in 1782 and is the oldest self-winding watch of the brand. Its platinum oscillating weight can still achieve automatic winding function.
